Business Reception Marks 50th Anniversary of China-EU Diplomatic Relations in Beijing
Beijing, June 17, 2025 — Business Reception: Celebrating 50 Years of EU-China Ties was held at the China World Summit Wing in Beijing. Organized by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) with strong support from the China Federation of Economic Media, the event brought together more than 100 senior representatives from leading Chinese and European enterprises.

Over the past five decades, China and the EU have forged a robust partnership across a wide range of areas including trade, technological innovation, environmental protection, and cultural exchange. At this new historical juncture—marked by global transformation and evolving challenges—both sides have expressed a shared commitment to deepening mutual trust, expanding openness, and strengthening cooperation. European companies are closely watching the vast opportunities in the Chinese market, while Chinese enterprises are accelerating their global expansion and deepening their presence in Europe.

The EUCCC and the China Federation of Economic Media co-hosted the event to create a premium platform for high-level exchange, aiming to promote direct dialogue between multinational corporations and foster new momentum for mutually beneficial business collaboration.
The evening began with a warm welcome speech by Mr. Jens Eskelund, President of the EUCCC. This was followed by addresses from Ms. Marjut Hannonen, Minister-Counsellor and Head of Trade Section at the Delegation of the European Union to China; Mr. Wojciech Jakóbiec, Acting Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland (which holds the 2025 EU Presidency); and Mr. Anders Siegumfeldt, Deputy Head of Mission (Ambassador) at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The event also featured an insightful keynote segment. Representatives from DEWIT LAW OFFICE and NielsenIQ China delivered engaging presentations on the topics “Opportunities and Challenges for Chinese Enterprises Investing in Europe”and “Decoding the European Consumer Market: Empowering Chinese Companies to Go Global”. Their analyses covered European market access systems, key legal and regulatory frameworks, and emerging consumer trends—offering practical and strategic guidance for Chinese companies aiming to expand their global footprint.

More than 70 foreign enterprises operating in China were represented at the event. Senior executives from over 30 leading Chinese companies, including Xijiu Group, ANTA Group, Geely Holding, Chow Tai Seng, Hopson Group, Haier Smart Home, Trip.com Group, and Mei KTV, were also in attendance. The subsequent cocktail reception provided ample opportunities for in-depth conversations, mutual understanding, and relationship building in a warm and dynamic atmosphere.
The Business Reception successfully established a high-level dialogue platform for Chinese and European enterprises and significantly advanced the cause of cross-border cooperation and shared prosperity.
