Air China Cargo’s First A330F Freighter Enters Commercial Operation

Flight CA1003, departing from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, recently landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. It marks the successful maiden flight of the first A330F freighter of Air China Cargo Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited, on the “Chengdu-Paris” route, and the freighter’s entry into commercial operation on international routes.

The “Chengdu-Paris-Chengdu” route operated by Air China Cargo runs four freighters per week. Outbound cargo primarily consists of e-commerce goods and electronic products, while inbound cargo includes trade goods arriving in Chengdu, auto parts, and transshipment cargo radiating across the country with Chengdu as the hub.

The launch of this route will further expand the logistics channels between Asia and Europe and promote industrial collaboration between China’s western region and Europe. Air China Cargo will also take the opportunity to actively promote the connectivity of countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to the construction of the Air Silk Road.

The A330F freighter features a flexible cargo hold design and advanced navigation and flight control systems. It meets the transportation needs of various types of cargo while offering higher economic efficiency. The introduction of this model is a significant step for Air China Cargo in enhancing its international air freight capacity and building an independent and controllable air logistics chain.

Since 2018, Air China Cargo has successively opened all-cargo routes such as Chengdu-Chicago-Chengdu and Chengdu-Amsterdam, continuously promoting the transformation and upgrading of aviation logistics development in the Chengdu region. This has provided significant support for the overall goal of building Chengdu into an aviation gateway hub and air freight transfer center facing the world from central and western China.
