Shanghai Senior Care Expo Opens, Showcasing Upgraded High-quality Silver Economy Ecosystem
The 2026 Shanghai International Exhibition of Senior Care, Rehabilitation Medicine and Healthcare (AID 2026) officially kicked off at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 4 June. As a leading international industrial platform, the three-day exhibition gathers around 680 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions, presenting a full spectrum of innovative products and services across the entire elderly care industrial chain.
Jointly hosted by the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the annual expo was first launched in 2000. With more than two decades of continuous development, it has grown into China’s largest, most professional and most internationalised commercial and exchange platform dedicated to the silver industry.
The 2026 edition features comprehensively upgraded exhibition scale and content architecture. Its coverage spans elderly care services, age-friendly home furnishings, rehabilitation assistive devices, senior-specific food products, smart elderly care technology, elderly care finance and silver cultural tourism. The event breaks traditional industrial boundaries to facilitate cross-field integration across multiple sectors, fully demonstrating the ongoing shift of the domestic silver economy from basic livelihood guarantee to high-quality lifestyle-oriented elderly care. A host of cutting-edge products targeting senior groups make their debut at this year’s exhibition.

The exhibition site delivers diverse and immersive experiences with vibrant on-site activities. A brand-new warm-themed IP image named “Lu Xiaohe” was unveiled during the event. Its approachable and gentle design shortens the emotional distance between the public and professional elderly care services. Exclusive experience zones for essential oil therapy and health tea tasting are open to visitors, alongside interactive activities including AI robot chess games, cultural check-in experiences and live music flash mob performances.
The organic combination of intelligent device experiences, diversified wellness services and entertaining cultural activities attracts extensive participation from industry experts, government institutional representatives, industrial practitioners and local visitors. The on-site displays vividly demonstrate the diversified and personalised development direction of modern high-quality elderly care lifestyles.
The continuous upgrading of the flagship exhibition platform will further drive technological iteration and resource aggregation in China’s silver industry. Cross-industry integration and innovative product launches will keep enriching the supply of premium elderly care services, supporting the steady optimisation and high-quality development of the national elderly care industrial system.
