China Minerals advances integrated ecological restoration and low-carbon construction across key regional projects

China Minerals has embedded green and low-carbon development strategies throughout its operational layout since its founding, centering ecological protection, technological innovation and industrial practice to advance sustainable development across multiple business segments. The group has deepened practical efforts in marine ecological conservation and eco-friendly construction, delivering steady progress in harmonious coexistence between industrial development and natural ecosystems.

Subsidiary entities under China Minerals have scaled up investment in marine ecological restoration in recent years. Its Zhoushan-based subsidiary has partnered with the Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute and the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences to carry out systematic ecological initiatives covering stock enhancement, habitat rehabilitation and environmental monitoring evaluation, with cumulative investment reaching approximately 53.75 million yuan.

Targeted fishery resource conservation programmes have been fully implemented across key coastal waters. Multiple batches of fry including large yellow croaker, swimming crab and Japanese squid have been released in the Shengsi and Daishan port areas, totalling around 323 million units, effectively replenishing local marine biological resources and supporting sustainable development of coastal fisheries. Innovative seabed habitat restoration projects have been rolled out, with artificial oyster reefs deployed along port waterfronts to build ecologically stable and biodiverse marine habitats, improving intertidal zone environments and enriching marine species diversity.

A refined marine ecological monitoring system has been established to support precise ecological governance. The company’s self-built marine monitoring platform has completed marine surveys at 75 monitoring stations since 2025, covering a sea area of more than 12,000 square kilometres and collecting over 3,000 sets of ecological data, providing solid data support for regional marine ecosystem protection and restoration.

Beyond marine ecological conservation, China Minerals has set industry benchmarks for low-carbon and green construction. As the main constructor of the Xiongan headquarters project, Zhongkuang Jinshi has integrated green construction, low-carbon fabrication and energy-saving operation into the entire project lifecycle. Adhering to advanced specifications for green buildings and intelligent construction, the project adopts environmentally friendly, energy-saving and recyclable construction materials and standardised facilities.

A rooftop photovoltaic system is under planned deployment, covering a solar panel area of 600 square metres with high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon modules. The system is projected to generate 775,100 kilowatt-hours of clean power annually. A full-process quality and environmental management system has been put in place to strictly comply with Xiongan New Area’s dust control standards. Comprehensive environmental protection facilities are deployed on site, with standardised disposal of construction waste and domestic sewage, ensuring zero safety, environmental and quality incidents throughout construction.

As the nation enters the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China Minerals will continue to prioritise ecological and green development. The group will further strengthen technological innovation and ecological governance capacity, continuously optimise its low-carbon industrial layout, and consolidate ecological protection achievements across regional projects.
