Liugong Intelligent International Industrial Park Accelerates Completion as Test Site and Component Factory Hit Construction Milestones
According to regional state-run Chinese news outlets, construction activity surges across Liugong Intelligent International Industrial Park in Liuzhou through early summer, marking tangible progress for Guangxi’s flagship heavy equipment industrial scheme.
The second phase of Liugong’s intelligent excavator test facility has passed civil engineering acceptance inspections, while the supporting new manufacturing plant operated by Weixiang enters a peak equipment installation phase in parallel.
The dual milestones advance full build-out of the industrial zone and deliver sustained impetus for upgrading Guangxi’s complete construction machinery industrial cluster.
The intelligent excavator test ground functions as a core infrastructure project designed to deliver world-leading research and validation platforms for excavator technology development. Equipment fitting works on its second phase are set to conclude by mid-June, bringing the facility into full operational service.
Once commissioned, Phase Two will operate in tandem with the original Phase One compound to deliver end-to-end testing capacity, covering complete machine performance calibration, intelligent function verification and long-duration durability trials.
The integrated testing ecosystem will strengthen Liugong’s independent research capacity for ultra-large excavators, smart construction machinery and fully electric vehicle platforms, supporting faster iteration of new product lines for domestic and overseas markets.

Parallel progress unfolds across the park’s auxiliary manufacturing zones. On 4 June, a high-precision ten-tonne three-dimensional numerical control pipe cutting machine was positioned on-site, formally launching the equipment installation schedule for Weixiang’s new production base.
The factory adopts a dual east-west production line layout with clear functional zoning. The eastern workshop hosts blanking, stamping and welding workflows, while the western section accommodates coating, final assembly and finished goods warehousing operations. Upon full commissioning, the facility will resolve existing bottlenecks in local supply of core cabin assemblies for Liugong machinery.
It will reinforce the integrated industrial chain framework spanning research and development, main unit manufacturing and supporting component production, lifting self-sufficiency rates for critical parts and streamlining delivery cycles to underpin steady output from the park’s main assembly workshops.
Groundbreaking for Liugong Intelligent International Industrial Park took place in January 2022, establishing a landmark development through which Liugong advances high-quality manufacturing standards and enterprise-wide intelligent transformation. Multiple flagship schemes within the wider park complex already operate at stable capacity.
The smart excavator assembly plant runs continuous production with an annual output capacity of thirty thousand complete excavator units. Additional key developments including the Global Innovation Centre for New Energy Intelligent Equipment and Zhongyuan Hydraulic Attachments’ new manufacturing base have completed fit-out and commenced formal operations.
Guangxi’s construction machinery sector continues to expand its integrated industrial ecosystem through coordinated development of main equipment manufacturers and local component suppliers. Additional mechanical processing and technical research facilities will proceed with staged construction and commissioning timelines in subsequent months. The finished industrial complex will reinforce the region’s competitive standing within global construction machinery supply chains.
