Kuqa Launches Standardised Summer Grain Procurement to Secure Annual Harvest Stability
According to local official media reports, large-scale summer grain procurement operations have officially commenced across Kuqa city in Xinjiang on 21 June. With nine township grain stations deployed to cover rural communities, the programme enables local farmers to deliver harvested wheat at nearby service points, streamlining the whole sales procedure. The city is set to procure 145,000 tonnes of summer grain throughout the harvest season.
Procurement sites in Yaha Town have maintained busy operational status since 23 June, with tractors, tricycles and trucks continuously arriving for grain delivery. Two indoor warehouses and outdoor stacking zones have undergone thorough cleaning, disinfection and ventilation treatment to meet large-scale grain storage demands. The Yaha Town grain station currently processes 300 tonnes of summer grain on a daily basis, with an annual procurement target of 8,000 tonnes.
All on-site inspection, grading and pricing procedures are implemented strictly in line with publicly released unified standards. Standardised operational protocols effectively prevent irregular practices such as arbitrary pricing and unreasonable deduction, ensuring full fairness, openness and transparency throughout the grain purchasing process.

Local authorities have launched considerate supporting services for participating farmers. Volunteer teams have set up dedicated rest areas equipped with drinking water, fresh melons and staple food supplies to help farmers cool down during hot weather. All grain sales are settled with full payment completed on the same delivery day, eliminating redundant procedures and improving fund delivery efficiency for rural households.
Advanced grain cleaning equipment has been deployed at warehousing zones. Pulse vibrating screens efficiently remove straw residues, stones, shrivelled grains and floating dust, integrating screening and dust removal in one automated process to guarantee high cleanliness standards for warehoused grain. Kuqa Qiuci Grain and Oil Company has completed comprehensive maintenance and inspection of mechanical facilities across all township stations and central warehouses before the procurement season.
Full sets of professional equipment for grain inspection, metering, cleaning and drying have been fully equipped, while sufficient funds, professional staff and storage capacity have been arranged to support steady operations. Public service supervision hotlines are accessible at all sites to handle public enquiries and complaints in a timely manner, maintaining standardised procurement order.
The ongoing summer grain procurement campaign will continue until the completion of regional harvesting work. Synchronised land clearing and corn reseeding arrangements are carried out alongside grain collection, ensuring continuous land utilisation and stable annual grain production capacity for rural areas across Kuqa.
