Henan’s AI Industry Surpasses RMB 100 Billion In Scale As Provincial Industry Conference Unveils Official Development Report
The 2026 Henan Provincial Artificial Intelligence Conference opened in Zhengzhou on 9 July, with the launch of the Henan Artificial Intelligence Development Report (2026) outlining major industrial milestones for the region. The report records that more than 500 upstream and downstream AI enterprises now operate across Henan, with the overall industrial scale exceeding RMB 100 billion, marking a pivotal shift from isolated technological breakthroughs to full industrial chain advancement.
The publication systematically evaluates Henan’s progress across six core dimensions of artificial intelligence development: computing power, data resources, large models, hardware manufacturing, software development and industrial ecosystem construction.
Major state-backed computing infrastructure platforms including the National Supercomputing Zhengzhou Centre and Zhengzhou Artificial Intelligence Computing Centre have entered full operational status, bringing the province’s aggregate computing power to 60 EFLOPS. Policy frameworks for data factor circulation have also delivered tangible outcomes, as Henan gains official approval to operate a national comprehensive pilot zone for data factor marketisation.
The Zhengzhou Data Exchange has placed more than 1,800 distinct data assets on public trading registers to date.

Extensive real-world deployment of intelligent technology is documented across nine key social and economic sectors in the report, covering medical services, education, scientific research, industrial production, agriculture, cultural tourism, urban governance, ecological protection and disaster risk reduction.
Twenty-five representative local application cases are compiled within the document to demonstrate replicable intelligent transformation models for regional organisations and manufacturers.
Provincial authorities continue to roll out coordinated infrastructure plans to consolidate computing power advantages, centred on Zhengzhou as the core hub of a province-wide “integrated supercomputing, intelligent computing and general computing” layout. Additional supporting policies streamline data asset registration, valuation and trading procedures to accelerate the aggregation of high-quality datasets for model training and industrial algorithm iteration.
Local technology developers maintain iterative upgrades to vertical industry large models tailored to Henan’s manufacturing, agricultural and service sectors, expanding the range of viable AI deployment scenarios across regional supply chains and public service systems.
Enterprises operating within Henan’s AI industrial chain will keep expanding investment in core hardware, algorithm research and end-to-end intelligent solutions, while local governments push forward targeted incubation schemes for emerging artificial intelligence startups.
The established pool of provincial computing resources and standardised data trading mechanisms will sustain consistent technical support for further cross-sector AI integration across the regional economy.
