China Datang reports robust clean energy power generation growth in first half of 2026

China Datang has maintained stable operation and high-quality development momentum throughout 2026, prioritising power generation expansion and reliable energy supply to deliver strong green power support for social and economic advancement. The group recorded a 12.03 percent year-on-year increase in clean energy power generation across the first six months of the year.

Targeted technical upgrades and refined operational management have driven steady improvements in wind power output. The group has carried out specialised equipment optimisation and regular fault elimination programmes, substantially cutting the frequency of wind turbine malfunctions. 

Jinding West Wind Farm, China’s largest million-kilowatt wind power base on plateau and mountainous terrain, has adopted tailored operational strategies for individual units and launched regular performance competitions to enhance generating efficiency from the source, achieving an 18.63 percent year-on-year power generation growth in the first half. 

Coastal wind power facilities under China Datang have coped with extreme gale conditions through comprehensive equipment inspections during maintenance windows. Real-time monitoring of turbine operational parameters and dynamic strategy adjustment have further stabilised and boosted overall wind power production efficiency.

Photovoltaic power operations have also registered notable progress via enhanced refined management and technological optimisation at all power stations. The Tuoketuo New Energy Project, the country’s first multi-energy complementary new energy initiative bundled with thermal power transmission channels, has deployed six intelligent drone nests with full-area networking coverage to enable routine inspection of 111 photovoltaic arrays. The project produced 240 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first half of the year. Yuxian New Energy Station has leveraged intelligent monitoring systems to collect real-time data on solar radiation, equipment conditions and power output, adjusting operational modes dynamically to lift power generation capacity. The station hit a record monthly power generation high in June, securing stable green power supply for the capital’s summer electricity grid load and posting a 34.32 percent year-on-year generation increase for the first half period.

Optimised cascade dispatching and scientific maintenance scheduling have maximised water resource utilisation for hydropower operations. Longtan Hydropower Plant has upgraded reservoir regulation strategies and strengthened intelligent monitoring and early warning capabilities to balance flood control and power generation requirements, delivering an 85 percent year-on-year surge in power generation in the first half. Tingzikou Hydropower Station in Sichuan has built a three-dimensional artificial rainfall operation system featuring watershed linkage and air-ground coordination. By establishing joint working mechanisms with local meteorological authorities and cascade hydropower stations in the basin, the facility achieved a 20 percent year-on-year growth in cumulative power generation.
