China Huadian accelerates low-carbon transformation with robust clean energy expansion and emerging business breakthroughs

China Huadian aligns its corporate development with national energy strategic layouts and advances its 15th Five-Year development plan, prioritising the exploitation of new energy and hydropower resources. The group scales up strategic emerging industries while promoting comprehensive green and low-carbon development through large-scale deployment of renewable energy and clean and efficient upgrading of traditional thermal power assets.

The group has delivered solid operational growth across power infrastructure construction in the first half of the year. Its newly commissioned power projects reached 4.1 million kilowatts, with total installed power capacity rising 13.4 percent year on year. Both ongoing power and new energy projects maintain leading scales among peer energy enterprises.

A series of key energy projects have achieved steady operational progress. The Chongqing Tongnan gas turbine project has been fully commissioned, while all new energy base projects under the second batch of national large-scale renewable energy programmes have completed construction. The Vietnam Dak Lak wind farm has officially entered commercial operation. Multiple large-scale renewable energy bases located in resource-abundant arid regions are under accelerated construction, including the Gansu Tengger Desert new energy base and the Jinshang wind-solar integration base. New energy base projects in Inner Mongolia Tengger and Qinghai Golmud East proceed in an orderly manner.

China Huadian continues to explore emerging industrial tracks and foster new growth drivers in the energy sector, securing tangible progress in zero-carbon industrial parks, power-computing integration and virtual power plant development. Zero-carbon park projects in Baotou of Inner Mongolia and Jinchang of Gansu have been listed in the first batch of national zero-carbon park directories. The Hohhot Hetao power-computing integration project has been recognised as a typical case of coordinated development for new information infrastructure by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Virtual power plant initiatives launched in Shandong and Jiangsu regions also deliver steady operational results.

The group will further optimise its energy structure, accelerate the construction of large-scale clean energy bases, and deepen the integration of energy and digital industries. Continuous innovation in new business models will underpin the steady expansion of its green low-carbon industrial layout.
