Tongling Nonferrous Metals Delivers Broad-Based Output and Profit Growth in First Half of 2026

According to Anhui News, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group advances operational efficiency, institutional reform and technological innovation against full-year operational targets through the opening six months of 2026, delivering consistent uplifts across all core financial and production metrics.

Total group pre-tax profit registers a 15.03 per cent year-on-year rise. Output volumes of core manufactured goods track parallel expansion, with cathode copper production lifting by 16.96 per cent and industrial sulphuric acid output climbing 15.84 per cent against the same period twelve months prior.

Three integrated industrial segments drive collective operational strength. Within the mining division, operational control over ore extraction and mineral processing undergoes continuous refinement, alongside scaled-up resource prospecting and ore recovery activity. Flagging mining assets including Dongwanshan Copper Mine record robust commercial returns amid prevailing positive commodity market conditions.

The smelting segment unlocks further operational gains via refined raw material blending schedules and sustained technical retrofits, pushing upwards the comprehensive metal recovery ratio and lifting segment-wide profit margins.

The new materials division centres its development cycles on high-end product iteration and technical breakthroughs. Ultra-thin high-grade copper foil and high-strength high-conductivity copper alloys overcome long-standing technical barriers, securing supply chain access to leading manufacturers both domestically and overseas and reinforcing the group’s global market standing.

Substantial investment flows into research and development programmes across the group. Cumulative R&D expenditure reaches 2.81 billion yuan in the first half, marking a 5.2 per cent annual increase. National-level innovation platforms proceed through steady construction phases, while long-term collaborative research frameworks deepen with academic institutions including the University of Science and Technology Beijing. Core technical breakthroughs target intelligent deep-mining workflows, low-carbon smelting techniques, advanced new material fabrication and scattered rare metal recovery. Major technical milestones cover automated operations for thousand-metre underground mines and proprietary manufacturing processes for premium electronic copper foil.

Systematic upgrades to manufacturing workflows, energy conservation infrastructure and environmental compliance systems deliver measurable progress on low-carbon transformation. Waste heat recovery circuits and green power trading frameworks roll out across production sites to cut carbon emissions per unit of value added by 12.81 per cent year on year. Two group subsidiaries, Jiuhua New Materials and Jintong Copper Industry, receive official certification as National Green Factories under national industrial environmental standards.

The group maintains sustained focus on three core development pillars for the remainder of the calendar year: coordinated advancement of mining, smelting and advanced materials divisions, scaled investment into proprietary core technology research, and comprehensive rollout of low-carbon production upgrades across all operational sites. Continuous refinement of end-to-end industrial chains aligns production capacity with domestic industrial demand and global downstream manufacturing supply chains.
