China launches first 10-million-ton crude pipeline under 15th Five-Year Plan

According to Xinhua News Agency, China National Petroleum Pipeline Group has successfully commissioned the Lianyungang-Huai’an section of the Lianyungang-Yizheng crude oil pipeline on August 13. As a key national oil and gas infrastructure project, it marks the first operational 10-million-ton-level crude pipeline delivered at the start of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period.

The newly operational pipeline segment serves as a vital component of China’s national energy network, supporting structural optimisation of energy supply across central and eastern regions. It further improves the integrated layout of the nationwide oil and gas pipeline system.

The new section connects seamlessly with the existing Rizhao-Yizheng pipeline, forming a complete crude transmission route that delivers oil resources to Yizheng station, a major crude hub in eastern China. The pipeline achieves a maximum daily transmission capacity of 70,000 tons, delivering stable energy supply for petrochemical enterprises across Jiangsu Province and the entire Yangtze River economic belt.

The expanded pipeline network establishes multi-channel energy supply pathways for industrial users along the Yangtze River. It strengthens the overall security and flexibility of regional crude supply systems, and optimises resource allocation for imported crude oil in the Yangtze River Delta.

Moving forward, the upgraded pipeline layout will underpin balanced energy distribution and industrial development in eastern China, supporting steady advancement of the country’s refined energy infrastructure system and regional high-quality economic growth.
