Ningxia State‑run Farm is driving improvements within its core beef‑cattle and mutton‑sheep industries. It relies on the expansion project of the Helan Mountain Beef‑Cattle and Mutton‑Sheep Circular Industry Demonstration Park to resolve operational bottlenecks, boost efficiency and upgrade the whole‑chain system covering planting, breeding, processing and sales. Modern animal husbandry across the farm advances at an accelerated pace.

Major‑project delivery has delivered tangible progress. Construction work for the Helan Mountain Beef‑Cattle and Mutton‑Sheep Circular Industry Demonstration Park expansion broke ground in August 2025. Site teams adopted a weekly scheduling and monthly reporting mechanism, alongside three‑shift staggered construction routines to compress building timelines. All civil‑engineering works were completed 100 days ahead of schedule, and the whole facility was fully finished and put into operation in March 2026. Covering a total land area of 1 350 mu, the park hosts 449 standard fattening barns, seven specialist weaning houses and 3 000 standard calf huts. Current beef‑cattle stock stands at 27 000 head, with overall breeding capacity exceeding 30 000 head, laying solid physical foundations for large‑scale beef‑cattle rearing.

Industrial transformation unlocks fresh competitive strengths. Following the initial build‑out of Phase I and Phase II works, Phase III focuses on quality‑oriented improvement. The Yimuyun digital‑intelligent management system is deployed across smart‑breeding operations. It captures full‑cycle key livestock data, delivers automatic alerts for abnormal grouping and stocking density, and supports precise total mixed ration feeding, greatly raising the standard of refined breeding management. Drawing on 340 000 mu of high‑quality forage bases within the farm zone, a direct forage‑supply system safeguards raw‑material quality. Manure undergoes harmless treatment before full return to farmland for crop cultivation. Moving beyond simple live‑animal sales, deep‑processing lines develop high‑value chilled‑meat products, completing a closed‑loop circular system integrating forage, livestock, meat and fertiliser resources.

Comprehensive operational benefits generate new momentum. By the end of July this year, total assets reached 1.262 billion yuan, with operating revenue hitting 460 million yuan and recorded profits of 6.77 million yuan. Total livestock stock and turnover stood at 206 900 head, while meat product sales reached 8 904 tonnes, representing a 259 per‑cent year‑on‑year increase. The project creates 300 direct jobs, prioritising local residents for on‑site employment and lifting household incomes in surrounding rural communities. Supported by large‑scale breeding and slaughter‑processing capacity, the park acts as a regional meat‑market buffer stock, stabilising meat supplies for urban and rural consumers and reinforcing local livelihood‑security industrial capacity.
