China’s Independently‑Developed F‑Class Heavy‑Duty Gas Turbine Sets Off for Kazakhstan on First Complete Export Shipment

Xinhua News Agency reports that on 28 August, the Dongfang Shuguang‑1 (G50) heavy‑duty gas turbine departed from Deyang in Sichuan Province bound for Jambyl Region, Kazakhstan. This marks the first complete‑set export of China’s home‑grown F‑class heavy‑duty gas turbine. The unit will serve the country’s first 70‑megawatt gas‑fired combined‑cycle power‑station project.

The project adopts a gas‑steam combined‑cycle technical configuration, delivering high‑efficiency power generation alongside heat‑supply capacity. Once commissioned, the installation will strengthen grid resilience across Jambyl Region and reshape local energy mixes, delivering stable and secure power supplies for regional economic and social activity.

Beyond supplying complete equipment packages, Dongfang Electric will deliver full‑lifecycle operational support for the gas‑turbine unit. On‑site assembly, commissioning and subsequent operational monitoring will proceed after hardware arrives at the project location. The export establishes practical overseas deployment experience for domestically‑developed heavy‑duty gas‑turbine technology.
