The city’s first wind farm at the Beihu Wind Power Base was connected to the grid in 2022. Following several years of continuous development, the installed capacity of completed wind power projects across Dunhuang now stands at 1.08 gigawatts. A further 1.95 gigawatts of projects are either under construction or awaiting development.

The region’s favourable wind conditions provide a solid foundation for the continuous rollout of wind energy infrastructure. More wind power facilities will move into construction and commissioning phases, expanding the local clean energy generation portfolio.
