Guangxi firm builds AI‑powered low‑altitude logistics hub
According to Guangxi Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd, 28 October 2026, the group is rolling out a dual low‑altitude hub scheme covering Wuhe and Lingli, in line with Guangxi’s Three‑Year Action Plan for In‑depth Implementation of the “Artificial Intelligence Plus” Initiative (2026–2028).
The Nanning Artificial Intelligence Low‑Altitude Logistics Application Centre (Phase One) is a major project coordinated at regional level for 2026. It occupies a 278‑acre site at Wuhe and comprises an intelligent highway transport platform, a multi‑scenario low‑altitude operation centre and a trunk highway logistics centre. The facility serves as a demonstration base for AI‑enabled low‑altitude logistics and a showcase for low‑altitude industry targeting the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The multi‑scenario low‑altitude operation centre integrates flight command, cold‑chain and ambient land‑to‑air transfer, demonstration and maintenance functions. It is fitted with twenty rooftop landing pads and an automated guided vehicle transfer system to link ground handling and airborne delivery. Fifteen ecosystem partners signed agreements at the September “Intelligent Low Altitude · Innovation in Nanning” low‑altitude industry forum to support the commercialisation pathway.

Six operational streams have been launched this year: official flights, medical delivery, coastal patrol, cross‑sea trunk routes, island feeder services and urban last‑mile distribution. The Guangxi‑Hainan cross‑sea trunk route has completed its maiden flight, moving high‑value cargo with a three‑hour lead time. Regular drone enforcement operations run across 50 square kilometres in Qingxiu District. Commercial medical delivery contracts, a Beihai‑Weizhou Island feeder route and an integrated drone and ground robot delivery scheme for university zones are also active. Forest fire prevention, emergency response and energy inspection routes are being added.
The project is attracting leading cold‑chain and parcel sorting operators to build combined warehousing, distribution and trade services. The site draws on delivered services and warehousing revenue to generate steady returns. A second‑phase industrial zone spanning 122 acres will accommodate drone makers and component suppliers to expand local industrial capacity.
The group will focus on combined land‑and‑air transport and cold‑chain logistics with industry partners. It will recruit skilled personnel and complete operational qualifications, expanding the scope of demonstration applications and developing the low‑altitude industrial ecosystem.
