2026 Macao Spring Employment Fair Kicks Off, Offering Over 2,000 Jobs

The 2026 Macao Spring Employment and Career Development Fair was held at Macao Tower from April 15th to 16th, attracting more than 50 local enterprises in Macao to provide over 2,000 job vacancies, covering various fields such as integrated tourism and leisure, hotels, information technology, public transport, retail and catering.

On site, in addition to on-the-spot interviews, four areas were set up to provide one-stop services for job seekers, including "Career Exploration Interactive Experience", "Career Planning Consultation Support", "Job Selection and Matching" and "Special Lecture on Job Hunting Guidance", helping job seekers make full preparations before interviews.

"I live in Taipa and it’s convenient to go to Hengqin. I want to try to develop my career there," said Ms. Lin, a post-2000s resident in Macao, who had her eye on a position in a private equity fund company. She told reporters that Hengqin’s broad space and brand-new urban outlook attracted her, and she hoped to find a suitable job.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Huang Zhixiong, Director of the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, stated that three special lectures would be held during the fair. Industry representatives would be invited to share the latest industry development trends, market dynamics, as well as employment opportunities and prospects in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone, fully meeting the needs of job seekers.

It is understood that the fair is co-hosted by the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, with funding from the Macao Foundation. This event is an important measure to implement the Macao SAR Government’s policy of ensuring residents’ employment and promoting appropriate economic diversification.

According to People’s Daily Online, the Macao SAR Government has been committed to optimizing the employment environment and expanding employment channels for local residents. The 2026 Policy Address proposed to effectively protect residents’ employment and promote the appropriate diversification of the economy, and this employment fair is a concrete practice to respond to this goal.

As the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone continues to develop, more and more Macao residents are willing to seek development opportunities there. It is reported that the cooperation zone aims to gradually realize that 40,000 Macao residents work and live in Hengqin in the second phase of its development, bringing more employment space for Macao residents.

The fair not only provides a platform for job seekers and enterprises to connect, but also reflects Macao’s efforts in promoting employment and economic development, laying a solid foundation for the stable development of the region and the improvement of residents’ well-being.
