General Administration of Market Supervision Launches Special Campaign to Safeguard CCC Certification

On April 16, it was learned from the General Administration of Market Supervision that the administration has recently deployed a nationwide special campaign to uphold the bottom line of CCC certification, conducting full-coverage supervision and inspection on designated certification bodies and focusing on key areas such as power banks, electric bicycles and gas-burning appliances for effectiveness sampling, according to Xinhua News Agency.

It is understood that the special campaign will strengthen daily supervision, further promote the pilot reform of CCC certification marks, accurately crack down on fake CCC certification marks, and enhance the traceability of product quality responsibilities. According to Xinhua Net, the pilot reform, launched in March 2026, adds a traceable QR code to CCC certification marks for 11 products in 3 categories, including power banks and electric bicycles, allowing the public and regulators to query product certification information with one click.

To consolidate responsibilities of all parties, the campaign will implement a “double investigation for one case” on unqualified CCC-certified products, meaning both the product manufacturer and the certification body will be investigated if violations are found. It will also address industry involution by verifying the technical capabilities of designated implementation bodies, optimizing and integrating their qualifications, and organizing cost accounting for certification and testing in key fields.

In terms of improving system supply, the campaign will optimize the CCC certification catalog, implement dynamic management, and further improve the rule system. Meanwhile, it will provide enterprise support by promoting the alignment of CCC certification with international conformity assessment rules and advancing the integrated development of certification services for domestic and foreign trade.

“The special campaign is crucial to standardizing the CCC certification industry and protecting consumer safety,” said Wang Hong, a senior inspector from the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the General Administration of Market Supervision, adding that the pilot QR code reform has effectively solved the difficulty in quality traceability of high-risk products.

Looking ahead, the General Administration of Market Supervision will strengthen overall coordination and work scheduling, supervise and guide local market supervision departments to further promote the special campaign, and actively carry out exchanges of advanced experience and notifications of typical cases to ensure the campaign achieves tangible results.

As an important part of China’s product quality supervision system, CCC certification plays a key role in safeguarding consumer rights and promoting high-quality industrial development, according to China Net. The special campaign will further improve the standardization level of the certification industry and boost public confidence in product quality.
