Chinese Smartphone Makers Embrace OpenClaw AI Agent Era
The global trend for OpenClaw, widely known as “AI Lobster”, has expanded into mobile hardware, with major Chinese manufacturers including Xiaomi, Honor and Huawei successively announcing plans to integrate OpenClaw applications into their devices.
On 6 March, Xiaomi launched a closed beta test of Xiaomi miclaw, an AI interactive product built on the company’s MiMo large language model. The tool is designed to explore system-level operational capabilities and validate the execution of large models within Xiaomi’s full human‑car‑home ecosystem.

At present, Xiaomi miclaw operates on an invitation‑only basis and is not open to public registration. The trial is exclusive to the Xiaomi 17 series, allowing the firm to assess stability, user experience and cross‑device coordination in a controlled environment.
The arrival of OpenClaw‑powered agents marks a shift in smartphone interaction, moving beyond simple voice commands to autonomous task execution across applications and connected devices. By embedding such AI agents into mobile hardware, brands aim to deliver more integrated, proactive and efficient smart services for daily use.
As industry players step up research and deployment, mobile AI agents are expected to become a key battleground for intelligent experience innovation, driving deeper integration between smartphones, AI capabilities and cross‑device ecosystems.
