China's Commercial Aerospace Core Industry Surpasses 1 Trillion Yuan in 2025, Sustaining Robust Growth
China's commercial aerospace sector marked a significant milestone in 2025, with its core industry output exceeding 1 trillion yuan ($138 billion) for the first time, according to data revealed at the 2026 CCID Forum held in Beijing on April 2.
The core industrial scale of China's commercial aerospace reached an estimated 1.01 trillion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly 7 percent. Concurrently, the number of commercial aerospace enterprises in the country surpassed 600 by the end of 2025, registering a growth rate of over 20 percent compared to the previous year.

The sector's expansion was underscored by a sharp rise in commercial launch activities and satellite deployments. In 2025, China conducted 50 commercial space launches, accounting for 54 percent of the nation's total orbital launches. These missions successfully placed 311 commercial satellites into orbit, comprising 84 percent of all Chinese satellites launched during the year.
A report from the Commercial Aerospace Research Center of the China Center for Information Industry Development forecasts that the core industry will maintain its momentum through the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), with an average annual compound growth rate of approximately 11 percent.
The robust performance reflects China's strategic push to develop commercial aerospace as a key emerging industry, supported by technological advancements and a maturing industrial ecosystem. The growing number of enterprises and high proportion of commercial launches and satellites illustrate the sector's increasing role in the nation's overall space endeavors.
The data, presented at the forum organized by the China Center for Information Industry Development, provides a comprehensive snapshot of the sector's trajectory and its promising outlook in the coming five years.
