139th China Import and Export Fair Concludes Successfully, Boosting Global Trade Cooperation
The 139th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, concluded successfully in Guangzhou on May 5. With a gathering of global purchasers and a splendid display of innovative products, the fair has further consolidated its role as a key platform for China’s foreign trade and promoted in-depth global trade cooperation.
According to official data released by the Canton Fair, as of May 4, 314,000 overseas purchasers from 220 countries and regions attended the fair, a year-on-year increase of 1.1% compared with the 138th session. A total of 407 leading purchasing enterprises and 154 overseas industrial and commercial organizations participated in groups, reflecting strong global recognition of the fair’s influence.
China Daily reported that the Canton Fair, founded in 1957, is China’s largest and most influential comprehensive international trade event, serving as an important window for China to connect with the global market. This session has continued to highlight innovation, with various exhibition areas showcasing cutting-edge products and technologies, attracting widespread attention from overseas purchasers.

The Intelligent Medical Zone was one of the highlights of the fair. Securities Daily reported that a variety of innovative medical products were on display here, including capsule gastroscopes that can efficiently screen for digestive tract diseases in a painless and non-invasive way, AI TCM constitution identification instruments that complete the entire traditional "look, listen, ask and feel" diagnosis process in minutes, and patch-type blood glucose monitoring devices that free chronic disease management from frequent needle pricks.
These intelligent medical products have attracted strong interest from overseas purchasers. An intelligent capsule gastroscope, which can complete a gastric examination in 20 minutes without anesthesia, has received inquiries and cooperation negotiations from doctors from Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries. Another AI-integrated TCM diagnosis device, which is easy to operate and accurate in diagnosis, is particularly popular among purchasers from Africa, as it can provide non-invasive health monitoring and support the improvement of rehabilitation services in areas with weak medical resources.
Besides the Intelligent Medical Zone, the Toy Exhibition Area also gained great popularity. Original Chinese blind boxes and trendy toys, which focus on design sense, collection value and emotional value, were highly sought after by overseas purchasers. A toy enterprise specializing in customized doll and blind box R&D and production reported a surge in customer consultations, with its products exported to more than 30 countries and regions.
Notably, this session of the Canton Fair set up a new Functional and Technological Fabric Zone for the first time, providing a high-quality platform for enterprises to connect with the global market accurately. Many enterprises have successfully expanded high-quality customers in the Middle East, South America and other regions through this platform, deepening cooperation with old customers while exploring new market opportunities.
Looking ahead, the Canton Fair will continue to optimize its exhibition layout and service capabilities, further integrating resources to build a more efficient and convenient bridge for global trade. It will continue to showcase China’s high-quality products and innovative strength, promote mutually beneficial cooperation between China and other countries in the world, and inject new vitality into the stable development of global trade.
