China Issues Action Plan to Promote Two-Way Empowerment Between AI and Energy

It was learned from the National Energy Administration on the 8th that the administration, together with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Data Administration, has recently issued the Action Plan on Promoting Two-Way Empowerment Between Artificial Intelligence and Energy. Xinhua News reports that the Action Plan takes energy support for AI development and AI empowerment for energy transformation as the main line, focusing on six key aspects to deploy 29 key tasks, striving to promote the efficient coordination of various elements for AI development, including energy, computing power, scenarios, data and models.

Specifically, the plan focuses on ensuring the safe and reliable energy supply of computing facilities, optimizing the layout of energy resources and computing power, improving the multi-power supply capacity of computing facilities and enhancing the quality of energy supply for computing facilities. It also promotes the green and low-carbon transformation of computing facilities, continuously increasing the proportion of green power in computing facilities and improving their energy efficiency.
