Chinese Immersion Energy Storage Unit Starts Commercial Operation in Mexico After Three-Month Field Validation

According to China Energy News, Galaxy Intelligent Storage, a fully submerged supermolecular commercial and industrial energy storage all-in-one system independently developed by Xinyuan Intelligent Storage under China Power Investment Corporation’s China Power division, has gone live in Mexico following three consecutive months of full-scale real-environment testing. The launch marks the first overseas commercial roll-out of the firm’s proprietary full immersion cooling technology.

The innovative design submerges battery cells entirely within customised special coolant fluid, eliminating thermal runaway risks at source and attaining the highest tier of global industry safety benchmarks for energy storage hardware. This core safety breakthrough removes traditional installation constraints, allowing the complete storage unit to be deployed directly inside indoor premises without dedicated outdoor containment zones.

Xinyuan Intelligent Storage and its material subsidiary Xinyuan Clean Materials have carried out years of joint research to translate immersion cooling technology from laboratory prototypes into deployable commercial equipment. More than 200 complete systems built around this technical architecture have been commissioned across domestic and international markets to date. The hardware caters to a broad spectrum of operational scenarios, including commercial peak shaving and valley filling, solar-storage hybrid setups, diesel-storage integrated power supply, data centre backup power, communication tower energy systems and combined photovoltaic, energy storage and charging stations.

The product range has secured small-volume delivery orders for Mexican sites within overseas markets. Additional shipment batches for projects located across the Middle East and Western Europe move through fulfilment pipelines, with units dispatched to end customers in successive phases.

International energy infrastructure developers keep tracking field performance data gathered from the Mexican operational site. The verified safety performance and flexible indoor installation capability will inform future project design decisions for grid and off-grid storage schemes across global emerging and mature power markets.
