Annual Mazu Ritual Celebrated in Tianjin as National Intangible Cultural Heritage

The annual Mazu Ritual (Gegu Baonian Festival) was held on 4 March, the 16th day of the first lunar month, in Gegu Town, Jinnan District, Tianjin.
With a history stretching back more than 600 years, the event is a major folk celebration marking the Lunar New Year for local communities. It was inscribed on the National List of Representative Items of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014.
