Wuhan Launches Rural Flower-Viewing Routes to Showcase Pastoral Beauty and Modern Agriculture

Wuhan, Hubei – To fully display the spring pastoral scenery of Wuhan’s new urban areas and the charm of modern agriculture, and meet the diverse needs of citizens and tourists for spring outings, flower appreciation and leisure vacations, Wuhan has launched a large-scale agriculture-culture-tourism activity themed "Spend Time, Meet Wuhan in the Countryside", accompanied by the release of seven high-quality rural flower-viewing routes, according to local media reports.

The seven routes cover different districts of Wuhan, each with unique features integrating natural scenery, cultural heritage and modern agricultural elements. The Xinzhou Poetic Flower Path focuses on the integration of nature and humanity, with over 2,000 magnolias along the road, cherry blossoms in Liji Xianxia City Cherry Garden (viewable until April), crabapple flowers in Huachao River Bay, and a thousand-mu rape flower sea at Zhangdu Lake Chuangxin Embankment, ideal for visitors who prefer tranquility.

The Changjiang New Area Ecological Flower Path centers on ecological leisure. It starts with the Xingfu River Embankment Corridor, followed by Hubei Provincial Modern Agriculture Exhibition Center where over 80 new colored rape varieties form a unique matrix. Wuhan Huaxianjing (formerly Wetland Cherry Garden) boasts more than 10 rare cherry blossom species with a 60-day flowering period, and the Blue Jade Necklace Ecological Sports and Cultural Park is perfect for family trips.

Huangpi’s All-Area Cherry Viewing Route features nearly 500,000 cherry trees. Qingliangzhai has over 110,000 Chinese cherry trees with a flowering period extended nearly two weeks longer than urban areas. Mulan Flower Valley holds a cherry blossom festival with various activities, while Ganlu Mountain Cultural and Creative City offers a unique aerial view of cherry blossoms covering ski resorts and homestays.

Other routes include Jiangxia Ancient Village Flower Field Route with ten-thousand-mu rape flower seas and ancient villages, Caidian Zhiyin Flower Rhyme Route integrating Zhiyin culture with camping and health preservation, Hannan River Embankment Flower Sea Route famous for rape flowers and river views, and Dongxihu Colorful Flower Greenway Route focusing on leisure and relaxation with tulip and cherry blossom attractions.

A relevant person in charge of Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that the seven routes aim to promote the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism. "While enjoying flowers and relaxing, citizens and tourists can experience diversified formats such as pastoral picking, farming culture, characteristic homestays and rural intangible cultural heritage, and feel the ecological beauty and development vitality of Wuhan’s countryside," he said.

He also reminded that the flowering period of each scenic spot may change slightly due to weather conditions, advising tourists to check flower information in advance, travel during off-peak hours and appreciate flowers in a civilized manner. From poetic ancient villages to vibrant flower seas, from modern agricultural demonstrations to ecological greenways, Wuhan’s rural areas welcome visitors to embrace the beauty of spring and experience the charm of a new countryside.
