Huangzhong District Kicks Off Spring Ploughing for 2026, Laying Foundation for Agricultural Prosperity
As spring arrives in early March and all things revive, the farmland in Liangjia Village, Tianjiazhai Town, Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, was abuzz with activity on 4 March. With rotary tillers and seeders shuttling across the fields, the "first plough" of Huangzhong District’s 2026 spring ploughing officially started, marking the launch of the district’s spring ploughing and sowing work.
At the spring ploughing site, local farmers seized the fine weather to carry out land preparation, fertilisation and agricultural machinery maintenance in an orderly manner, with a bustling atmosphere of seizing the farming season to prepare for spring ploughing everywhere. As a model entity for spring ploughing in the district, Qinghai Nuofeng Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. took the lead in launching spring sowing operations, promoting spring ploughing efficiently through large-scale planting, mechanised farming and standardised management, setting a good example for spring sowing across the district.
The company stated that all materials such as seeds, chemical fertilisers and agricultural machinery had been prepared in advance, and it was fully confident in this year’s harvest. It added that it would rely on large-scale and mechanised operations to comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of spring sowing, ensure grain planting and drive the income increase of surrounding farmers. In 2026, the company plans to plant 3,600 mu of land, covering crops such as wheat, potatoes, broad beans, fresh corn and open-field vegetables, with full mechanisation throughout to lay a solid foundation for stable and increased grain production.

Material guarantee is the foundation and technical services are the key to spring ploughing and preparation. To ensure the smooth progress of spring ploughing, Huangzhong District made early plans and precise arrangements, fully doing a good job in various guarantee work such as agricultural material reserve and technical guidance. Up to now, the district has stocked 2,200 tonnes of chemical fertilisers, 5 tonnes of pesticides and 10,000 bags of rapeseed seeds. Pesticides, agricultural films and other spring ploughing materials are fully stocked and distributed in a timely manner, effectively meeting the needs of the district’s spring sowing.
The District Agricultural Technology Extension Centre arranged technical personnel to go deep into the fields, providing practical technical guidance on agricultural machinery maintenance, formula fertilisation and water-fertiliser integration, delivering agricultural technical services to the frontline of production and passing on scientific planting methods to farmers. It noted that the district would adhere to the matching of high-quality seeds with good cultivation methods and the integration of agricultural machinery with agronomy, aiming to improve planting efficiency and grain output while ensuring stable production and income increase for farmers, laying a solid foundation for a bumper grain harvest in the district.
It is understood that in 2026, the planned planting area of grain crops in Huangzhong District will reach 429,000 mu, including 224,700 mu of oil crops. The district will implement 13 agricultural projects such as chemical fertiliser reduction and efficiency improvement for grain and oil crops and high-yield and high-efficiency green rapeseed, and integrate and promote 5 new technologies, new varieties and new models. Currently, Huangzhong District is focusing on "early preparation" and "solid implementation", compacting all work measures for spring ploughing and preparation, and making every effort to seize the farming season, ensure spring ploughing and promote production, laying a solid foundation for agricultural efficiency improvement, farmers’ income increase and rural stability throughout the year.
