As temperatures rise and farming activities resume, spring ploughing has fully kicked off in Diebu County, Gansu Province. Guided by Party building to promote high-quality professional development, the county’s Agriculture and Science Bureau has been delivering services directly to the frontline of production, ensuring a solid start for the year’s grain production.

To lay a solid foundation for spring ploughing, Diebu County has prioritized the reserve and supply of agricultural materials. A special deployment meeting on spring ploughing preparation was held to refine responsibility division and coordinate the reserve, allocation and supply of production materials. Having conducted an advance survey of the county’s agricultural material needs, the local government has taken multiple measures to stock up on various supplies. Currently, over 600 tons of organic fertilizer, 2 tons of pesticides, 30 tons of agricultural film and 420 tons of seeds have been reserved, with sufficient and diverse stocks of wheat, rape and potato seeds to fully meet the demands of spring ploughing and ensure no delay in sowing.

Precise measures have been implemented to strengthen spring field management. Giving full play to the fighting fortress role of grass-roots Party organizations and the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, Diebu County has set up Party member service teams for spring ploughing to fully promote spring agricultural production. Agricultural technical service teams have been dispatched to 32 administrative villages across 5 towns to investigate soil moisture and accurately grasp production fundamentals. Classified technical guidance has been provided for winter wheat and rape to consolidate the foundation for spring ploughing and sowing, while emergency operation teams for agricultural machinery have been established to offer free maintenance services, providing solid equipment support for spring ploughing.

Technology empowerment has been adopted to benefit farmers. In conjunction with the practical activity of "Doing Practical Things for the Masses", the county has organized Party member technical backbones to carry out 2 special training sessions on science and technology going to the countryside. Covering over 100 farmers, the training focused on practical skills such as spring field management, scientific and safe pesticide use, and agricultural machinery operation and maintenance, bringing beneficial agricultural policies and technical knowledge to farmers’ doorsteps and rooting the concept of scientific farming in the fields.

Strict quality control has been maintained to safeguard food production safety. Diebu County has aligned Party building with the supervision of agricultural material law enforcement, organizing the Agricultural Comprehensive Law Enforcement Team, Seed Station and Agricultural Technology Station to conduct 2 special inspections on spring agricultural materials. One seed operation enterprise was inspected, with key sampling of critical indicators such as approval information, label ledgers and germination rates of wheat, corn and highland barley varieties. Two problems were rectified on site, and business behaviors were standardized in accordance with the law, ensuring farmers have access to safe seeds, pesticides and fertilizers from the source.

With comprehensive preparation, precise services and strict quality control, Diebu County is steadily advancing spring ploughing work, laying a solid foundation for stable grain production, farmers’ income increase and high-quality regional agricultural development.
