Inner Mongolia’s Wulate Qianqi Steps Up Spring Ploughing to Boost Grain Security

Wulate Qianqi in Inner Mongolia is fully embracing the spring ploughing season, aligning with the arrangements of this year’s National Two Sessions that emphasize unremitting efforts in grain production, intensified implementation of the new round of 50 billion-kilogram grain production capacity improvement campaign, and the strategy of storing grain in land and technology.

Guided by Party building and empowered by talents, the banner has promoted facility seedling cultivation, technology-aided agriculture and order-based agriculture in parallel, presenting a bustling scene across its farmlands as farmers seize the crucial period for spring preparation.

At Hexing Modern Agricultural Seedling Base in Dashetai Town, greenhouses are filled with warmth, where matrix preparation, plug placement and mechanical precision sowing are carried out in an orderly manner. Workers skillfully lay plugs, sow seeds and cover soil, with high-quality pepper varieties such as Honglong 23 and Qianjin Hong neatly placed in the plugs. These robust seedlings are expected to be transplanted to fields by the end of April, laying a solid foundation for the full-year bumper harvest of characteristic crops.

As a key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization at the autonomous region level, Hexing Company focuses on two dominant industries — corn and pepper. It has built a comprehensive social service system covering ploughing, sowing, management, harvesting, storage, transportation, processing and sales, including two 38.27-hectare grain and pepper industrial parks and three 1,333.33-hectare modern agricultural planting parks. Its demonstration park on the southern bank of Wuliangsuhai has been rated as a national crop planting science and technology test and demonstration base by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, radiating and driving a total of 20,000 hectares of surrounding planting areas.

Green and efficient technologies including Beidou navigation and soil testing-based fertilization have been promoted, with guaranteed-price purchase orders signed and full-process technical guidance provided to ensure farmers can plant with confidence, manage effectively and sell smoothly.

Supported by a service team composed of local talents, science and technology commissioners and Party member technical backbones, high-quality seeds and advanced technologies are delivered directly to the fields to help farmers stabilize production and increase income. At present, “Shetai Glutinous” glutinous corn has obtained green food certification, and the influence of the “Shetai Red” pepper brand continues to grow.

In recent years, Wulate Qianqi has given full play to the leading role of agricultural leading enterprises, linking industrial chains, talent chains and service chains through Party building chains, improving the entire agricultural industrial chain and promoting the organic connection between small farmers and modern agriculture.
