China Steps Up Agricultural Supplies Guarantee for Spring Ploughing

BEIJING, April 2 (Reporter) — Spring ploughing preparations in China are now in full swing from south to north, with the peak period for the purchase and use of agricultural supplies underway. Local governments and relevant departments have taken multiple measures to ensure the supply of agricultural materials, laying a solid foundation for spring ploughing production, according to CCTV News.

Yingkou Port, the largest chemical fertilizer transshipment hub in Northeast China, handles more than half of the chemical fertilizers used for spring ploughing in the region. To meet the urgent demand, the port has specially opened a green channel for spring ploughing, capable of transporting over 3,000 tons of phosphate fertilizer per day. This efficient transshipment ensures that chemical fertilizers reach farmland in a timely manner, supporting the smooth progress of spring ploughing in Northeast China.

Agricultural supply production enterprises are also operating at full capacity to boost output. A phosphate fertilizer production enterprise in Guizhou Province is running its production lines at maximum capacity, striving to increase the supply of key agricultural materials and meet the growing demand during the spring ploughing season.

The latest data from the China Agricultural Materials Circulation Association shows that major urea producers in China currently have a daily output of over 200,000 tons, ensuring sufficient supply of key chemical fertilizer varieties such as nitrogen fertilizer.

The national supply and marketing cooperative system has stepped up procurement and transportation efforts, with an expected purchase of about 31 million tons of chemical fertilizers during the peak spring ploughing period from March to May.

Agricultural material reserve enterprises are also actively releasing stored stocks into the market to further stabilize supply.

Across the country, 16,000 agricultural service centers and more than 280,000 grassroots outlets are accelerating the distribution of various agricultural supplies to terminals, ensuring that products reach stores, villages and households quickly.

At the China Agricultural Materials Service Center in Lishu, Jilin Province, trucks loaded with chemical fertilizers enter and exit in an orderly manner. Local authorities have launched point-to-point delivery services to rural areas, making every effort to meet the demand for chemical fertilizers for spring ploughing.

With joint efforts from all sectors, the supply of key agricultural materials such as seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides for spring ploughing is generally guaranteed across the country.

The smooth progress of spring ploughing and field management not only lays a solid foundation for this year’s agricultural production but also reflects China’s strong capacity to ensure food security through scientific and effective measures.
