Guangxi Hengzhou’s Jasmine Enters Harvest Season, Boosting Industrial Chain Development

Nestled in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hengzhou City has become the world’s largest jasmine production base, with a planting area exceeding 180,000 mu, accounting for more than 60% of the world’s total output. As the spring warms up, the city’s jasmine flowers have successively entered the harvest season, and local residents are turning this fragrant flower into a delicious feast, driving the integrated development of the entire jasmine processing industry chain.

According to CCTV News, the jasmine harvest in Hengzhou is now in full swing, with mature flowers used for making tea and unopened buds processed into various delicacies. This rational utilization not only reduces waste but also maximizes the value of jasmine resources, reflecting the local people’s wisdom in integrating characteristic agriculture with food culture.

Jasmine Tea Shrimp is a representative local dish featuring the unique fragrance of jasmine, while home-style dishes like Scrambled Eggs with Jasmine are also deeply loved by diners. Yang Xue, a reporter from China Central Television (CCTV), described the local jasmine-themed cuisine: "From the sweet and refreshing Jasmine Corn Syrup to the appetizing Cold Mixed Jasmine Flowers, every dish here is infused with the fragrance of jasmine."

In addition to savory dishes, Hengzhou also boasts a variety of jasmine-themed desserts and drinks, including Jasmine Cake, Jasmine Crisp and Jasmine Crystal Zongzi. According to CCTV.com, Hengzhou has built a complete industrial chain covering jasmine planting, picking and processing in recent years, and further turned jasmine cuisine into a regional characteristic brand.

As the "Hometown of Jasmine in China", Hengzhou has been continuously exploring ways to tap the potential of jasmine resources. According to CCTV News, the total output value of Hengzhou’s jasmine (tea) industry has exceeded 16 billion yuan, with a comprehensive brand value of 22.413 billion yuan, benefiting more than 300,000 local farmers.

Huang Haitao, Secretary of the CPC Hengzhou Municipal Committee, once stated that Hengzhou is leveraging its advantages as the "World Jasmine Capital" to promote the integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, striving to build a world jasmine industry center. The development of jasmine cuisine has not only enriched the local food culture but also provided new impetus for rural revitalization.
