Tianjin Rolls Out Full Preparations for Upcoming Triple-Summer Farming Campaign

As temperatures climb across northern China, Tianjin has finalised all preparatory arrangements for the imminent triple-summer farming rush covering summer harvesting, sowing and crop management, with comprehensive agricultural machinery services fully in place to secure full grain collection and stable summer crop yields.

Local agricultural authorities have rolled out a full suite of administrative arrangements to streamline mechanical farming work. Official circulars have been issued alongside online coordination conferences and field promotion events, defining clear work allocations across regional and functional departments to solidify organisational foundations for upcoming farm operations.

Machinery and operator preparation forms a core pillar of the city’s seasonal planning. Technical teams have completed systematic inspections, maintenance and pre-season training for farm equipment, alongside targeted support to help individual farmers source suitable operating machinery. More than 20,000 pieces of diverse agricultural gear have undergone full servicing to date, while over 2,000 machine operators and maintenance technicians have finished skill-focused coaching. For the coming farming window, over 4,500 combine harvesters, 7,000 tractors and 5,000 seed drills will be deployed across rural areas to sustain seamless harvesting and subsequent planting progress.

Technical promotion works to lift operational efficiency and curb grain wastage. Through field demonstrations, practical skill contests and on-site volunteer guidance schemes, agricultural specialists spread refined mechanised techniques including precision film mulch rice transplanting, smart mechanised cultivation for local Xiaozhan rice, low-loss wheat harvesting and high-standard corn drilling. In excess of 240 farming practitioners have received hands-on tuition to adopt scientific working approaches and minimise avoidable crop losses during field work.

A robust emergency response framework has been established to counter unpredictable weather shifts. A dedicated hotline for wheat harvesting support stays open all season, paired with a round-the-clock duty roster and refined contingency protocols. Relevant departments track meteorological fluctuations in real time and stock up on drying and field harvesting supplies to deliver rapid intervention amid unforeseen operational disruptions.

Cross-department collaboration eliminates logistical barriers for inter-region machinery movement. Regular weather updates and safety reminders are sent directly to roaming machine operators, while designated refuelling stations for harvesters are laid out throughout rural zones to guarantee unbroken fuel supply and unimpeded road transit for mobile farm equipment.

All agricultural resources stand ready across Tianjin’s countryside ahead of peak farming days. Ongoing practical administrative and technical measures will facilitate complete collection of ripe summer grain and underpin stable harvest outcomes for the whole calendar year.
